Our Services in Fremont

Lawncare Maintenance & Mowing in Fremont

Weekly and bi-weekly mowing, from small in-town lots to multi-acre properties out toward Fremont Lake. Thatching, edging, and cleanup on every visit.

Hydroseeding

Sandy Newaygo County ground drains fast, which makes new lawns hard to start from seed alone. Hydroseeding holds moisture at the surface long enough for grass to take.

Fertilization & Weed Control

Light soil lets nutrients wash through quickly, so Fremont lawns often need a different feeding schedule. Fertilizer, weed control, lime, aeration, and overseeding.

Irrigation

Installs, start-ups, mid-season checks, and winterizing. Many properties outside the city run on well water, and we size systems to work with what you have.

Tree Trimming & Removal in Fremont

Older Fremont neighborhoods carry heavy canopy, and rural lots often need clearing. Pruning, removals, stump grinding, lot clearing, and we haul the debris out.

Flower Bed & Landscape Maintenance

Monthly bed visits with hand-pulling at every stop, plus pruning, deadheading, edging, and mulch.

Hardscaping

Patios, retaining walls, walkways, steps, and fire pits built for Michigan freeze-thaw. Retaining walls come up often where Fremont grades run toward water.

Landscape Design & Installation

Starting from bare ground on a new build, or reworking a yard nobody has touched in twenty years. Design, plantings, grading, and hardscape.

Snow Removal

Plowing, shoveling, and salting for commercial properties. Newaygo County catches lake-effect snow, and we route so lots open before the workday.

Why Choose Christian Brothers?

  • We Are Close By

Our shop is in Grant, twenty minutes out. When a limb comes down or a sprinkler line lets go in July, we are not routing a truck up from Grand Rapids.

  • Newaygo County Is Home Ground

Christian Brothers started here and still runs out of Grant. We have worked Fremont properties through enough dry Augusts and lake-effect Januaries to know what they take.

  • Our Owner Still Works in the Field

He still puts in days with the crew. Our management team carries more than 40 years of combined lawncare experience, and estimates get built per property.

Serving Fremont and the Rest of Newaygo County

We cover Fremont from the Branstrom Park neighborhoods to the properties ringing Fremont Lake and the parcels out along W 72nd Street and M-82. Fremont is the largest city in Newaygo County and sits in the middle of our northern route. Crews run south to Grant and Casnovia, east to Newaygo and White Cloud, and north toward Howard City.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you serve my part of Fremont?

We cover the City of Fremont and the surrounding townships, plus Grant, Newaygo, White Cloud, Casnovia, and Howard City. Our shop is in Grant, so most of Newaygo County sits inside a comfortable radius. City services, parks, and event schedules are on the City of Fremont website.

Does the sandy soil around Fremont change what my lawn needs?

Usually. Much of Newaygo County sits on light, fast-draining ground, so water and nutrients move through the root zone quicker than they would in clay. Lawns here tend to do better on lighter, more frequent feeding and steadier watering through July and August. The MSU Extension office on W 72nd Street sells soil test kits if you want to see what you have.

When does the lawncare season start and end here?

Most Fremont accounts run April through November, depending on the thaw. Spring cleanup comes first, then mowing once the grass is growing. Fall cleanup wraps up through leaf drop in late October and November.

Can you work native plants into my landscaping?

Yes, as part of a new installation or into beds you already have. The Newaygo Conservation District runs its tree nursery and native plant sale out of Rex Street here in Fremont, which is a good place to look at species before we design. They also handle invasive species identification, which comes up on wooded lots.
